What's it take to be a missionary priest or brother?
 

Men interested in becoming a Divine Word Missionary brother or priest enter formation at different times in their lives. The program is based on their individual needs at the time they begin their studies with us.


Generally, these are the steps most students experience:

1. Earn a BA Degree at Divine Word College. If you already have a BA/BS degree, enter formation in the Associate Program.


2. Attend the Novitiate for one year and profess temporary vows.


3. Priesthood candidates enter our Theologate in Chicago to begin theology studies. Brotherhood candidates enter higher education studies and live in the Wendelin Community.
    
4. Participate in the Cross-Cultural Training Program (CTP).


5. After CTP, return to academic studies until completed.


6. Profess perpetual vows and priesthood candidates are ordained.
